I don't use my math book sequentially, but we do an entire chapter at once. For each new chapter we have to start over, but one day of not be able to find a page is better than everyday! I have actually made books marks (I
know I have way too much time on my hands) that go along with the chapter we are studying. If it's place value I have information on the book mark about expanded form, standard form, word form, a place value chart, etc. When we do money they have the front and back of each coin and their value. I just made them out of tagboard and laminated them. I collect them after each chapter and pass

out the new ones. It is helpful for parents too. They can easily tell where we are in the book. Of course, some of them get ratty looking, but I have extras so I can replace the old ones. Hope this helps!
