Awesome book, but...

It's been a while since I read it, but isn't there a scene where the main character must take pills to reduce puberty urges and then, because he's the receiver, he stops taking them, and feels the urges? Also, the needle in the head thing when someone gets "released"; there's some tough scenes in there. I think the symbolism and true meaning of the story is for a mature audience, but you know your class best. Good luck with your decision....
