1. i think (as a mom/teacher) that all parents are probably watching their children when they come in to volunteer (perhaps not to the point this mom is suggesting...). but i certainly would watch how my children respond to their teachers and interact with their peers!
2. may sure you have PLENTY to keep her busy so she doesn't have time to watch you/chat with her child, etc.
3. many of my volunteers tell me when they can come in because that's when they are available. at least she asked you which day would be best for you. if you don't have much for her to do at this time, be honest | | and tell her that from x to x you will have her working with individual students on (sight words, fluency reading, times tables, etc) and that from x to x you'll need her to do photocopying/laminating, etc because that is a time the students don't need additional help.
4. this might be a good opportunity for her to see what her child is like in comparison to the other children and what your expectations are.
