9 facts
By lynn

Clip to ScrapBook
I remember learning my 9 facts using my fingers. Put your hands out in front of you, palms up and fingers "standing". Count from left to right on your fingers the number you are mutiplying by 9. Put that finger (or thumb) down. The number of fingers "standing" to the left of the down finger is the tens digit and the number of "standing" fingers to the right of the down finger is the ones digit. For example 9x4, you count 4 fingers over putting down your left ring finger. You have 3 fingers up/standing to the left of the down finger (30) and 6 fingers up (include both hands) to the right of the down finger (6). The answer is 36. Sorry for the poor explanation it is hard to expain without a picture.
