NC Math Test

I also teach in NC and was teaching 5 years ago when we went through the same thing! Part of the reason that scores were low across the state is due to how they re-normed the test.

That said, make sure that you have received your Week-by-Week essentials and are using/following those. There are new ones this year! jThere are also sample activities in the testing/accountability section of the DPI site that follow the format of the EOG.

You must also be using your calculators regularly in your classroom. Remember that they use these on 70% of the test! I can't tell you how many times I've seen kids go through the entire calculator-active portion without touching their calculators (they aren't attuned to using them).
