I think the idea might have come from me. I have been doing this for at least 15 years. The kids love it. I make the copies on the school copier, I just buy the colored paper. I also buy colored pocket folders in the summer when they are on sale. This year I bought the folders for a penny each. The boys and girls all love it since they are personalized. I try to think about what I know about the kids--do they play a sport, take dance class, like to draw, love books?

I have done this for first, second, and third grade.
