Pacing guides By Maestra

In our district the pacing guides our sent to us from the "powers above". The problem is that they are so unrealistically paced that it is near impossible to keep up with them....unless you just keep moving on no matter what. Oh, and if you give up assemblies, field trips, special events, questions, reteaching or anything that could detract you!

Having a group of teachers elect to work on this over the summer (with pay of course) sounds like an ideal situation. At least they would have a realistic idea of what goes on in the classroom. Our administrative sorts that produce our pacing guides are out of touch with our reality.

I am so sorry you are being asked to do this now.
