Other than that, you could choose volunteers. Give each volunteer a piece of paper. First person has a 5, second person has a multiplication sign, third person has a three, fourth person has an = and fifth person has a 15. Then tell them to line up across the front of the room to form a correct number sentence. Switch the persons holding the 3 and 5. Ask the class if it is still correct. There you have a short dem of the commutative property. :s)
