reading logs
By Tina

Clip to ScrapBook
I do something very similar to Diana. My weekly homework is stapled to my reading log (which is on the front of the packet). It goes home Monday & is returned on Friday. I have requested that my students read 15-20 minutes
each night, by themselves, with an adult, or to an adult. But, I do not give them a book. I leave it to them to find something to read. If they need a book, they always ask to borrow one-which is of course OKAY! I keep track on a simple chart in the classroom, where students put stickers on each week they complete. I am thinking about using our "school folders" for this after hearing
about Diana's idea. The only problem, kids lose their "school folders" too frequently. They are used to send papers home on Mondays & homework back on Fridays.
