Poetry

I do one poem per week. I hang a large copy of the poem at calendar and we intro it on Monday. I make 2 copies of the poem for each student. One copy goes home and the other is 3 hole punched and put into their poetry folder. They decorate these with an appropriate picture. On Fridays they perform the poem in front of the class. They can go up alone or with as many as 3 friends. It really makes talking in front of a group a piece of cake by the end of the year.
