explain describe infer compare contrast analyze evaluate formulate trace okay, those are the only ones I can remember right now. His point with those, if I understand correctly, is that by teaching a simpler way to recall what each word means, you can raise achievement and close the gap. He's obviously coming at this from a multicultural angle and looking for ways to help students not be intimidated by common testing words.
