I have a graph with the students birthdays. I have the months going across the top of my room, then I have the kids decorate a cake with their name and post it above their birthday month.
I also have a tooth chart. They love to be recognized when they lost a tooth. I use a word wall also. Job chart--bulletin board. I usually have the kids sit in pairs until I know them a little better then place them in tables. I move my room around all the time.
