Clip to ScrapBook
I did a gr2 interim this year where the teacher had the desks in a U shape. It was really nice to be able to make one quick movement and be around the room. She had tables instead of desks and only 13 students. She was
pregnant and the less she walked the better so the U shape was a good idea. But then we learned how well it worked and decided to keep it.
Posters - For the most part let the students decorate the room. On the first couple of days let them draw and decorate themselves and use this to help decorate the room. You could have the room look neat by having their named written vertically
with colorful paper and hang it from the ceiling. A huge map, some incentive posters, and of course you rules - written colorfully of course- would be good ideas. And this teacher had three bulletin boards in her room. Two were the kind that stay up all year leaving just one to change each month using student work.
