Going from K to 2nd grade

Kimberly, I went to 2nd grade after teaching K for 9 years. What a great move for me! They know how to write their names and how to do morning work. Of course you'll have to see how your class is before going ahead too far! I have a great book called Month by Month Phonics for Second Grade. It has great beginning ideas and is very structured by the months. Another good book is What Are the Other Kids Doing While I'm Teaching Small Groups? It has center ideas. I relied a lot on my fellow 2nd grade teachers to guide me. Our staff is like a family and we take care of each other. Email me if you would like more ideas. Bye! Sandy from Arkansas
