I spend the first few weeks setting the tone for the year. I usually do a unit that involves manners and character qualities. This year I am going to focus on bees. There are many cute bee bulletin board boarders and bulletin board sets. I plan to post my rules on the Bee-havior board as follows, BE Kind, BE safe, BE your best. I found a board set called "Buzzing with good character". We will discuss the term "Busy Bees" and study bees as our first science unit. We will discuss working hard and working together.

Last year I did the same type of character unit, but used a space theme. We were "Super Stars" and rules were "out of this world"
