    I teach 3rd, but we read The Important Book and then create a class book with each child doing a page of "The Important thing about (their name)".

    Another idea is around Christmas we do alliterative poems using the alphabet and Christmas topics (or any holiday). For example: (for the letter A) Antlers always aid Andy. They illustrate it, and they turn out really cute. You can read the book "Oh say can you say?" by Dr. Seuss to lead into it.
