    I think it would be good for you to student teach in an area where you would want to work. In my experience, principals hire good student teachers as full-time teachers after graduation (assuming they have a position).

    Of course, I also think it's a good idea to work somewhere you're not used to. After my student teaching in a tough school, I know that I could teach anywhere and be fine.
