Abuse Photos
By Eydie

Clip to ScrapBook
Those pictures are clearly of abusive situations and that's why those photos were taken in the first place! Hopefully they were used in court to convict someone!
A spanking should not result in a bruise and if there is
redness at all it should be the kind which fades within a short period of time.
Corporal punishment unfortunately is what children in this area expect and "respect". When my class even hears the swats given in the hallway to a student from another room, the atomosphere changes immediately, and it is one very much condusive to learning.
Last year I taught at a school where they did
not paddle except by the principal and very rarely and the children knew it. They were intentionally bad and disrespectful to each other and the adults. They could care less if they had to turn a card, miss recess, write lines, stay for after school detention or have silent lunch.....which was never silent because there was no way to enforce it! I taught first and it only got worse as they students were older! I always use positive reinforcement and teach responsive classroom so mine were better then the average but yikes!
I am so glad to be in a school where the disciplne is consistant and rules are followed! If the threat of a spanking is the reason, then so be it! I can teach again and I am no longer exhausted at the end of the day from trying to maintain discipline!
