Need tips for finding 'current' posts
By Risa

Clip to ScrapBook
I have a cold that forced me to stay home this weekend, which gave me time to leisurely skim through posts on these wonderful boards. I got a chance to find lots of good information, but I also found many posts where I had
no answers to offer... until later when I continued on through the various boards and found information that might be useful on another thread.

My frustration has come from having read through so many of the boards, I don't remember exactly where I found the thread that asked for "x" information. For example, the other day I read a couple of requests asking for help with non-English
speakers. A day or two later I received a newsletter that recommended an interactive vocabulary site specifically for English learners. Well, I thought I'd search the boards to find those posts, but after an hour or so, I had to give up so I just submitted the post in a new thread.

Today, I was actually looking for the threads I read (yesterday) that offered Lesson Plan templates because someone on the 2nd grade board (today) needs these templates. Well, I didn't find those threads, but I found the requests for Eng. Learners help, so I had to go back and find THAT thread and post it to those who needed it.

All of that leads me to ... Now... I'm still trying to track down the threads that offer their Lesson Plan templates but I can't find them. I tried the seach box, but that leads me through archived posts, which, by the way have some VERY HELPFUL information, and not current posts.

I tried looking through my bookmarked threads, but I didn't post to any of those lesson plan threads, so there's no help there... :o Skimming through all posts board by board is very time consuming, especially since I often go to "Recent Posts" so I'm not always aware of which board I'm reading. Aside from the examples I explained above, there have been many more times when I've wanted to go back to a thread I've read, so I finally decided just to ask...

My question: Do you have tips for tracking down 'current posts' on the various boards?

( Whew!! I didn't realize I had written so much! If you got this far and didn't just move on... THANKS!! :D)
