    Clip to ScrapBook
Hi. Our building uses the color coded system. Everyone starts the day on "green." If they misbehave and are warned, they flip to "yellow." Another infraction results in a flip to "blue", which means lose a recess, or some other punishment. The final color on our chart is "red." In the event a child ends up on red, they go to the principal and call the parent. In my building some teachers use the pocket charts with colored cards. Each child's name is on a pocket, and each pocket contains one of each color card. I thought it took up too much space, so I took a clipboard and using colored construction paper in the four colors designed a board. I use clothespins with each child's name. If I tell a kid to flip, they are to change their clip to the next color. At the end of the month our entire school has an assembly to celebrate the folks who have remained on green all month. Names are announced at the assembly, and the kids stand up and are applauded by all. It is a powerful incentive. Good luck!
