For me, it's not wrong! Would you mark a writing paper wrong because they used "Coke" when you would use soda, or pop? Or kin, instead of realatives or family? No, of course not. It's not improper English, it's just NOT your English. At my school we have to be very sensitive to dialect. Otherwise we are supressing other cultures. OTOH, if it's a spelling test and you say "mum" she darn well better get that "u" in there, but then, to me, that's a flower! ;)
