    Were you counting the morning and afternoon work as well? I had to count that in to get my 330 minutes (+ the activity). Morning work is mostly journal, handwriting, word wall sentences, etc... - but it's not "play time" so I still considered it instructional time. Then in the afternoon I do a read aloud, and I even counted in the packing up time - it was the only way to get in my 330 minutes.

    That's why I'm so curious about it - I can't figure out how else to get it in. Here's my schedule this year - where else is the time?

    7:40-8:10- Morning work
    8:10-9:10 - Reading (ability-grouped)
    9:10-9:45 - Math (1st half)
    9:45-10:30 - Science/S.S. (alternate every 2 weeks)
    10:30-11:10 - Activity
    11:10-11:20 - bathroom break/handwashing
    11:24-11:54 - Lunch
    12:00-1:15 - Reading/L.A.
    1:15-1:40 - Math (2nd half)
    1:40-2:00 - Recess
    2:00-2:25 - Afternoon activities (read aloud, pack-up, etc...)
    2:30 - Leave
