1st day/week curriculum

I am curious about what lesson plans look like curriculum-wise for the first day and especially first week or two. I am sure a lot of time is spent on rules and practicing procedures, but I was wondering more about curriculum, how much and when. I teach 6th grade in a K-6 school, and am looking for some different ideas to begin the year with.
