Spend some time thinking about what you want her role to be in your class. I strongly suggest you have specific tasks and students you want her to be responsible for. Make sure she has enough work to do to keep her busy but not overloaded. If your school has the room - have her take students outside your classroom for testing, reading, math work, etc., rather than always working in the room. And if she does become difficult to work with - talk to her straight and set guidelines. If this doesn't work, go to your administrator with what she is doing, what you have said to her and how you have handled it so far. Keep good notes!!!!!!!! But hopefully she will be a totally different person as an aide.:s)
