check with your school library and see if they are doing away with some books. Our school library is always replacing older books with newer ones. Also ask your principal if there are any old reading series on your grade level. I agree talk to your school library to see if you can check out so many books every week. Have one basket or area for those and another for others. YOu can have magazines , collect old weekly readers and put them into a binder. Make a book of poems that are silly/seasonal.
Reading is everywhere. It is not just in a thing called a book. Find an old set of encyclopedias-put just 2 or 3 out at a time. That way is short but informational reading. It just might spark the interest of your non motivitive reader.
