I found two great books to use for center ideas: What Other Kids Are Doing While You Teach Small Groups, published by Creative Teaching Press. and The Complete Guide to Classroom Centers also published by CTP. I use centers everyday and wouldn't know what to do with out them. I try to set them up so I don't have to do much planning. I have centers with materials and the kids decide what to do with them, or I set up a special activity at the center to foucus on a skill or theme for the week.
