I have major ADD tendencies when it comes to getting things done for school, so what I have done is made a back-to-school checklist. It lists all of the major and minor things I have to make sure are done before the first
day of school. The things involve the physical setup of the bookshelves, books, computers and desks; all of the items that need to have names put on them (it's easy to forget one of these if I don't list them all); curriculum materials to prepare; things to copy or laminate; folders/notebooks to get ready; welcome back letters to send; first week projects... I'd offer to share my list,

but I know most of it is specific to my classroom &/or school. This checklist is the only way I make sure I've got a handle on what I need to do. I created it on the computer, so I've got it and can modify it from year to year. I group similar tasks together, but it really doesn't matter what order I go in, since I can make sure it all gets done.
