I am not too familiar with London Towne, I was a few miles down the road in Fairfax City, Daniels Run. What grade is her son in and do you happen to know which middle school he'll be going to? My best friend taught at Liberty Middle School in Clifton, which is really close to Centerville, for 4 years as a special ed. teacher in 7th and 8th grade. He was a fabulous teacher and I know that the other teachers he worked with were fabulous as well. He got a job here in PA and will be moving back in a few days.

I am sorry that a comment like that was made by a FCPS teacher. Fairfax County is a fantastic school system...the resources (both people and supplies) are incredible. I subbed for a year in PA and student taught here and when I moved to FCPS, I was blown away. So yes, they do have a great school system, and every single teacher I ever met there wanted to be there and was great at what they did - however, that is no excuse for a comment like that. Teachers all over this country pour their hearts and souls into what they do and while one school system may have more money than another, it by no means makes it better. As you said, we do all have pretty much the same standards. It's up to the teachers to teach no matter what resources they have. Again, I am sorry for that. Please don't let it influence your opinion of really is a great system!
