Reflecting on the classroom I taught long-term in last year, I feel I do differentiate instruction. I guess I just never put THAT much thought into it so it taxes me a little when I do! It seems like each time I leave an interview, I feel that I have TONS more professional development to do before I could even BEGIN to be an effective teacher. I don't really think that's the case...it seems more likely that it's an issue of putting so much thought into the things that almost come naturally to teachers...and that just stresses me out I suppose! This is a difficult profession in that it seems almost expected that a first year teacher come in and perform just as fantastically as a twenty-year veteran. That's a pretty high expectation! Thank you all for your input on this question and for helping me sort out my own thoughts on the matter. Your answers really helped to validate my feelings on it and I really appreciate you taking the time to post!
