Please contact your administrator to talk to them about what the parents have been saying.

The administrator needs to sit down with both parents and spell out what their rights are and how things will be handled. This sounds like a recent divorce and tensions are high.

If the divorce is old and the family has had their child in your school last year then find out how things were handled last year.

If this is indeed a new situation - you need to know that your administrator is behind you and is handling the parents. Otherwise you could find yourself in a situation where you do not want to be.

You do need to know what the legal status of both parents are - do they have joint custody or not. Then if they do your administrator needs to inform mom that dad has the same rights as she does and that legally the school is bound to share the same information, etc., with him.
