    Some of these things I have tried with some success. I have two areas in the classroom designated as "quiet zones." If a child selects to work in these areas, there is positively no talking. Children who talk are requested to leave the area. (They really do like to be there.)There is a working table in both areas. When they use the computer, the volume is on a "one foot" voice level. When they talk to a partner they use their one foot voice and we practice what that sounds like.
    I prioritize all the work they are to do on a chalkboard for them to refer to and not interrupt me.
