Something a little different

Mine get to pick a classroom to go share a book with. They usually pick their kindergarten teacher's class. They can also choose to read for another first grade class or for our class. They practice for a week and usually
do it on Friday.

They're in charge of the treasure box for the week. On Friday they call down the list of names for good citizens of the week and stand with the box.

They are the water counter for the week. Anytime we get water they stand and count for the class.

They get to be my assistant. They pass things out, go on special missions for me, things like that.

This

year I'm going to let the student of the week take the class mascot home over the weekend to write about their adventures. I haven't ironed out all the details yet though.
