The possibilities are endless! Here are mine: poems and songs, fairytales, folktales, general science, animals (fiction), animals (nonfiction),
school, insects, dinosaurs, the ocean, people (fiction), people (nonfiction), number sense, counting books, travel and transportation, plants and food, weather, seasons, chapter books, class-made books, family and friends, solar system, holidays. I may have forgotten some. I'm listing from memory at home. Many books fit in more than one place. I just try to put them in the theme I'm most likely to use it. Making a database is a great idea for easy locating. Some themes take more than one basket. Good luck!
