new day
By Nikki Polk

Clip to ScrapBook
Barbara,

I had a similar experience a few years ago. I was a new hire after 6 weeks of school. My students were coming from 5 different classes. To help with the transition, the principal let me go in and introduce myself to the each class. I read a book and shared a little about myself. After two days they let the parents know who would be moved. I treated the first day in the class just the same as the first day in school. I went over my rules and class procedures. Everybody was real understanding and the kids followed right along. Since everything was new all over again, they didn't have that much problems changng or adjusting. We ended up having a good year.
