Name Game
By Amanda K.

Clip to ScrapBook
This is a name game that we do from the Open Court Phonics series.

Each child has to have a name tag. They sit in a circle. You sit in the circle with them, and start the game off by chanting at the kid next to you, "Wyatt, Wyatt, how are you? Who's that sitting next to you?" Wyatt then has to look at his neighbor's name tag, see if he can figure it out based on the letters and sounds. If he can't, then he's allowed to ask what the name is. Then, he continues the chant, "Jennifer, Jennifer, how are you? Who's that sitting next to you?" You go all the way around the circle. It helps the kids with initial consonant identification, too.
