Calendar
By tweet

Clip to ScrapBook
My team did the calendar thing at the end of last semester for this coming year. We wrote in each week what our topic would be for sci/soc.stu and then tried to coordinate our basal reader stories to the topics whenever
possible. We included school holidays and early release dates so there won't be any surprises there. We also penciled in dates for benchmarks of our state test. By using a calendar, we were able to make sure we were covering the standards we needed to by testing dates. We were also able to stretch things out a bit when we seemed to be running short of things to teach before school was
out. I'm going into this year feeling pretty good about knowing what I am doing--and I am a 25 yr. veteran. We also have a new team member, so we could just hand her the calendar so that she could get started on her planning which was nice for her. Looking at an actual calendar makes a lot of sense to me. I think this is something we will continue to do.
