Our PTA meets quarterly due to poor attendance. It's fairly manditory for teachers although with a good excuse we can get out of it. We do a program with the students after each meeting. The grade levels double up to provide| the entertainment...K-1; 2-3; and 4-5. I think our first meeting of the year doesn't get the entertainment. They do a pizza party for the class that gets the most members signed up by a certain date with the kickoff being during the meeting. The older grades did a talent show, the younger grades did a cute production about the rain forest, and middle grades sang several songs. | |
My principal is leaning towards more of the production type things similar to the rain forest production. A lot of time...when it's our turn...I'll be posting for help!!
The parents come in huge numbers for the productions but it is only for the one meeting where their children are involved. It gets attendance but doesn't help with volunteers, etc.
