I teach in a very urban low achieving district. I have a Masters and by winter i will have compleated my MA+30. I am earning about $58,000 but I have extra duties (Leadership chair, ESL person, club advisor etc) so it is really more.
My husbands says he makes as much as I do (wink wink nod nod). He has lots of perks (expense account, car allowance, golf outings, plane tickets etc). He takes three hour lunches, uses the phone, enjoys hotels etc. It is not the same. I work just to carry the health insurance!
