Although I complain about our pay, it's really much better than it used to be. My first year of teaching (1991) I only made $19,000. I stayed home for 9 years after that to be with my babies, but was suprised at the increase while I was gone. I know the cost of living went up as well, but our pay has doubled, which is huge for Mississippi.
