You're not alone...
By Susan/IN

Clip to ScrapBook
I have to give up my full size classroom for a room about 1/4 the size of what I've been used to (I'm a Title I/Reading Recovery teacher). So I needed to bring all my personal stuff home. After 28 years of teaching I have
so many resource books, professional development books, and leveled books. We also downsized in our home so you can imagine the need to get rid of as many books as possible. We had a neighborhood yard sale and I put out the books I could bear to part with and sold them for $1.00 each. I called new teachers/student teachers and I got rid of about 50-75 books. Before I left school I
let assistants that were certified and looking for a teaching position go through and take what they wanted in the way of posters, borders, etc. They were happy and I was happy that someone is getting some use out of the stuff. I also gave away some of it to classroom teachers. I don't mind giving it away if I know it's going to be used, but I hate it when people take things and then stuff it away.
