Definately an addict... By triana00

I just finished my first full year, after 3/4s of a year as a permanent sub...I have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many books. At school, I have two sets of Yaffa blocks on my counter. Both were completely full of resource books. That's not counting the 2 drawers in a filing cabinet that I had at home, in a spare bedroom, or the one drawer, in one of the short, wide filing cabinets in my basement. The good news--I purged! I cleaned out the filing cabinet in the spare bedroom and put the stuff on ebay. I ended up making $130!! Doesn't seem like too much, but a lot of what I had were old magazines (Instructor, | | Mailbox, CopyCat, etc.) from my mom (also a teacher--terrible problem for us packrats!). She had been collected books for me from her school for the past several years. Other teachers at school had given me things, and I buy a lot at Half Priced Books. Some of the books were my moms when she started teaching--32 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!! So anyhow, I cleaned out the filing cabinet and made some extra cash...what did I do with it?? I went to Half Priced Books yesterday and bought three more books!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I won't even start on children's books....I have four bookshelves in my room for the kiddos. At last count (I have an itemized list in Excel), I had over 2,000. That's not including the books that haven't made it to school yet, or the new books that I bought at Scholastic's Warehouse sale, or the books in my storage unit!
