Clip to ScrapBook
After 25 years teaching, I am trying to purge my room of unnecessary, unused teaching supplies. Over the last couple of weeks I have gone through about 3 bookshelves worth of resource books. I have culled a stack about
equal to half a book shelf! I know that I will never use these materials, and hope that someone else at my school can find something useful in them. But the main thing that bothers me is how much money I have spent over the years on these books that I have either NEVER used, or got very little out of. What was I thinking at the time? I think one thing that has always been in the back
of my head is someday--you know, someday I might need this, someday I might have a child with a special need for this, this is a good idea I might use someday, someday... Well, someday hasn't happened, apparently. Now I am looking toward retirement and don't want all this useless stuff hanging around. Then I look at what is left on the shelves. I really am not ready to get rid of any of it yet, but still there is SO MUCH left, and the scary part is--I keep adding to this collection!!! Have I completely lost my mind? Any other resource book addicts out there? Is there a cure?
