Clip to ScrapBook
I just completed my 25th year. We top out on the pay scale after 20 years. I make a little over 42,000--no master's but there's no extra money for that anyway. The legislature just voted us a $2500 raise. We'll see--they
have a tendency to do that then somehow it ends up not funded or rerouted to insurance or something. Here individual school districts can pay over the state base. I make a whopping $750 over state base, but my school district pays all of my health insurance. I also get 2 district personal days that I get full pay for if I don't use them by the end of the year. I NEVER use them--if
I am out at all, I use state days. Extracurricular teachers make an extra stipend and are paid for extra days. I am paid for 187 days. My husband gets an extra 1/2 month plus a stipend. He's a band director. He will make about $54,000 this year--not his best year. He made more at his last school. My son is a brand new band director--no experience yet. His salary for the coming year is about $32,000. He is actually making more stipend money than his dad, but doesn't have any years on the pay scale yet. My husband, like me, has topped out.
