Massachusetts
By Mrs. R

Clip to ScrapBook
I just finished year 15, but my district stops giving credit for years above 12 unless you're at Masters+30 or above. I'm at MA+15 and I made $66, 820 last year. I pay about $66 per month for health and dental insurance (single plan), $70 per month for union dues, 11% of my pay goes toward my state retirement/pension, plus what I pay in state and federal taxes. I'm very happy with my pay even given all the hours I put in. It's a lot harder for new teachers. They make much less and must earn their Masters degree within five years of starting teaching in Massachusetts. Degrees are expensive!
