Ginger Pye Summary
By teacher_ mel

Clip to ScrapBook
I read this as a read aloud to my 2nd/3rd graders a couple of years ago. Its about a family that finds a dog, they name her Ginger, (they are the Pyes) and she goes missing. The parents tell the kids she just ran off,
the kids are convinced someone took her. That's the basic plot, I may be off on some of the details!!! What I remember most about this book was that the kids described the person who took her as an "unsavory character," which I thought was so cute. So now whenever I see someone I think looks kind of suspicious, I automatically think--"that's an unsavory character"!!! I think its appropriate
for no higher than 3rd grade but thats just my opinion. My kids enjoyed it, I was kind of bored by it, and there is a sequel that a few of my kids read and enjoyed.
