Clip to ScrapBook
I completed my first year this school year. I have a master's and started out at $33,625. I thought this was a lot, especially after living the before and during college years in poverty (family of 4 making $15,000-18,000 a year) until I got my first check. Medical/dental insurance= $600/month, taxes=$350, dues= $41. I lose about $1000 per month. I wouldn't mind so much if benefits were paid for. A county next to mine pays $3000 more per year and has 100% paid benefits, and the county is 1/2 the size of the one I work in. Unfortunately, it's not what you know but who you know in order to get hired there.
