Acronyms!
By Smiles66

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi there,
This year, I tried out acronyms for subjects with my kids. They loved it! They thought it was so secretive and mysterious! They purposely would talk about it in front of kids from other classes because it made them feel special.
I would discuss it with your class. Tell them that their job is to come up with a secret way to say Free Friday. Model it for them first (Free Funky Fridays = FFF or Triple F). Then, you could have a contest to see who can come up with the neatest acronym. Have the class vote on their favourite one and give a prize to its creator! They will love you for allowing them the freedom to create something that is special to them and it will develop a sense of community!:)
