Clip to ScrapBook
I teach 2nd/3rd. I give homework every night but I try to keep it consistent. For example, Monday- spelling words 3 times and Math worksheet, Tuesday-read our weekly selection and Math worksheet, Wednesday- Journal and
Math worksheet, Thursday- Study Spelling and Math worksheet.

There may be a project or a test to study but I think homework is beneficial. It gives parents the chance to see what we're working on and it's extra practice.

As far as grading it- I just check off the spelling words, we read the journals in the morning, and I may grade the math worksheets or we grade it
together. Sometimes I average the math homework by points but it depends what it is and how many problems are on the worksheet. (Honestly, a second grade math sheet only has a few problems and takes seconds to check.)

I think it teaches good organizational skills. My students know they have something to bring home every night and return something the next day. I also have a reward system set up. I hope that helps!
