my mother wanted my sons to call her mimi ("mee-mee"); she never asked them to, but they ended up calling her that anyway! their other grandma goes by grandma (used to go by Grandma Newhouse...because last name is Newell, but also because they moved into a new house...well, they don't call her that anymore...logic of children--because they've lived there for so long the house is no longer "new"!)

one grandpa is grandpa, but the mimi's husband is Boppa. coincidentally, he has a moustache and the boys thought he looked like mr. potato head, so that was called "Boppa Head".
