I got an apple notepad from a teacher store. Laminated them and put the kids name on each. Then, I stapled them 3/4 of the way around, leaving the top open. Then I colored worms with sad faces on craft sticks. In the second week of school, I started coming down a little harder on them. They get upset when they have to go and put a worm in their apple. Three worms and a note goes home. Hope this helps.
